How long has Manetto Hill Jewish Center (MHJC) been in existence?
MHJC has been in existence since 1969, nearly 50 years.
Are you egalitarian?
MHJC was the first egalitarian Conservative synagogue on Long Island. Men and women share responsibilities in leading services, reading Torah, assuming leadership positions in the synagogue and so forth.
How can I join MHJC?
You can join in person or by downloading the online membership application. Mail or bring it to: Manetto Hill Jewish Center, 244 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview, NY 11803.
How long is my membership good?
Membership is good for one year from July 1 to June 30.
What do I get for my membership dues?

What are the dues of MHJC?
MHJC offers a variety of membership options. There are individual and family memberships available, as well as new member discounts and incentives, including free Hebrew School for members. What if I can’t afford membership?
Our congregational policy is to never turn away anyone who has special financial considerations. Payment plans can also be arranged. Please contact the main office at 516-935-5454 and ask to speak to a financial secretary about individual arrangements. Your phone call and information will remain confidential.
Are High Holiday tickets included with membership?
High Holiday tickets are included with your membership. A family membership will receive two non-transferable tickets for assigned seats and a single membership will receive one. Tickets for children under 23 are also complimentary, and as a member you can purchase tickets for immediate family at a reduced rate.
Are you LGBTQ-friendly?
Yes. The LGBTQ community is a welcome and involved part of MHJC.
Are interfaith couples welcome?
Yes. We have many interfaith families at MHJC, and they are very much part of our family. Read more here>>
