What is a Sustaining Pledge?

What is a Synagogue Sustaining Pledge?

A Sustaining Pledge is the exact baseline dollar amount needed from each congregant household to fully cover the synagogue’s annual operating budget without raising additional funds. It represents the true cost of keeping our sanctuary open, supporting our clergy, and operating community programs

Current 2025-2026 Membership Investment Baseline:

    • Annual Sustaining Pledge: $2,425.89 per household
    • Required Security Assessment: $200.00

While this target figure allows us to operate smoothly, we know every family faces unique financial situations. We encourage members to step forward and pledge an amount that feels genuinely comfortable and meaningful to their household.

How Your Membership Contribution Supports Our Community

Pledges are pooled together to directly manage the operational demands of our Nassau County congregation. Your financial support ensures the continuity of:

  • Inspiring and fully egalitarian Shabbat and holiday religious services
  • Fair compensation for our dedicated clergy, education directors, and support staff
  • Essential utility fees, campus maintenance, and building safety insurance
  • Community engagement events
