The DEAR Torah Project

Manetto Hill Jewish Center has launched our DEAR initiative as we are dedicating a Torah in memory of the victims of the October 7th massacre and its aftermath. We are committed to:

Dedicating our Torah to the memory of the victims of October 7th

Educating ourselves to the challenges Jews face in Israel and around the world

Advocating for Israel’s right to exist and for the safety of Jews everywhere

Repairing our Torah and our broken hearts

Dedicating. Educating. Advocating. Repairing – DEAR

DEAR reminds us of our responsibility to never forget the victims of October 7th

DEAR reminds us to act on their behalf and to never forget their stories.

DEAR reminds us to root out anti-Semitism, to teach, and to forge bonds of friendship within our community.

DEAR acknowledges that the dedication of a Torah is a profoundly happy occasion. We look forward to dancing and singing with our newly dedicated Torah on Simchat Torah.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Manetto Hill Jewish Center is accepting contributions/dedications as part of this project.  Links to the Donation Forms are linked below.

• General Donations toward the project, including commemorating a victim of October 7th
• Purchase letters, words, parshas, sections of the Torah which will be written by a Sofer during a Torah Dedication in the Fall of 2026.

KICKOFF EVENT – DECEMBER 13th, 2025

Our kickoff event to the DEAR program was a Chanukah Party on December 13th.  Members of our congregation and community came together in a celebration of the Festival of Lights.  Israeli dancing and dinner were featured in this kickoff event.
