How long has Manetto Hill Jewish Center (MHJC) been in existence?

We have been a vibrant cornerstone of the Long Island Jewish community since 1969.

Is MHJC an egalitarian synagogue?

Yes. MHJC proudly stands as the very first egalitarian Conservative synagogue on Long Island. Men and women share all religious responsibilities equally, including leading services, reading Torah, receiving honors, and assuming critical lay leadership positions within our congregation.

Is MHJC an LGBTQIA+ friendly congregation?

Yes. The LGBTQIA+ community is a fully welcome, respected, and involved part of the MHJC family. We warmly embrace individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations, striving to maintain a completely safe, inclusive, and egalitarian spiritual space.

Are interfaith couples and families welcome?

How do I join MHJC?

You can join our family instantly online or by printing out our paper forms. To start, navigate to our online membership application portal. If you prefer mail or hand-delivery, please drop your paperwork off at our main office: Manetto Hill Jewish Center, 244 Manetto Hill Road, Plainview, NY 11803.

How long is my annual synagogue membership valid?

Our standard annual membership cycle runs for exactly one full year, starting on July 1 and ending on June 30.

What if I cannot afford standard synagogue dues?

Financial barriers do not exist here. Everyone can afford to belong because our innovative Give From the Heart program eliminates rigid dues tiers, mandatory assessments, and building funds. What does my annual Sustaining Pledge include?

Are High Holiday tickets included with membership?

Yes. Standard family memberships include two High Holiday tickets, and single memberships include one ticket. All High Holiday sanctuary seating is fully assigned in advance to ensure a comfortable, organized prayer experience. Additionally:
