Interfaith Families

Manetto Hill Jewish Center helps create strong Jewish families. Interfaith families and Jews by choice are an integral part of our synagogue family. We invite all who want to create a Jewish family to be part of synagogue life at Manetto Hill Jewish Center.

In response to our community’s demographics and a trend within the Conservative Movement, our rabbi and Ritual Committee reviewed our ritual policies and practices as they pertain to interfaith families. A non-Jewish participant may accompany his/her spouse/partner to the bimah when the Jewish spouse or partner has an aliyah.

The information on the following pages represents a brief overview of our ritual policies as they pertain to interfaith families. Should you have additional questions, please contact Rabbi Neil Schuman at 516 935-5454.
